Beijing and Xiong’an Study and Exchange Tour

29-06-2026

It was a great honor to be invited by the Ta Kwu Ling District Rural Committee to participate in this study and exchange tour to Beijing and the Xiong'an New Area. During this trip, we visited national-level institutions including the National Archives of Publications and Culture and the National Museum of Local Chronicles . We engaged in in-depth discussions with their directors and curators to understand their operational details. We also visited Tsinghua University and the Xiong'an New Area Exhibition Hall, making this an incredibly rewarding journey.

At the National Archives of Publications and Culture, I gained a profound understanding of the grand blueprint for preserving thousands of years of Chinese culture. Seeing how this vision is translated into pragmatic action was truly admirable.

The National Museum of Local Chronicles houses village, township, and town chronicles, as well as yearbooks and various economic chronicles from all over the country, serving as a faithful witness to history. As President Xi Jinping once said, "A reliable way to understand history is to read local chronicles; this is a habit of mine." The compilation and preservation of local chronicles are of critical significance in ensuring that local culture is respected and reflected in contemporary urban planning. Furthermore, the renewed application of these historical records will become an essential link in cultural inheritance.

We were particularly moved by the keen interest shown by mainland officials in the community planning model of Hong Kong’s Ta Kwu Ling district, which is driven from the bottom up and funded by the community itself. This represents a precious opportunity for mutual learning and exchange between the two regions.

Finally, my heartfelt thanks go to the Ta Kwu Ling District Rural Committee for their meticulous arrangements. This trip has not only deepened my understanding of the national cultural strategy but has also brought fresh perspectives and inspiration for my future local work and community building.

Delegation of Representatives from the Luohu District People's Government

12-02-2026

On February 12, 2026, the consulting team, together with Chairman Chan Yuet-ming of the Ta Kwu Ling Rural Committee and his team, welcomed a delegation from the Luohu District People's Government to the eastern Ta Kwu Ling area of the Northern Metropolis for an inspection tour to explore the potential for joint development between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

Luohu District and Ta Kwu Ling District are closely linked by mountains, rivers, and landscapes, with three border crossings operating intensively every day. During the visit, numerous collaborative development visions were proposed. For example, Luohu District has already developed the Shenzhen River Ecological Blueway, which will be opened to the public by reservation in the future. This aligns perfectly with the positioning of the blue-green tourism and ecological circle in Hong Kong’s Northern Metropolis. It is believed that there will be even greater development potential in future planning between the two sides.
